Services
Artemis serves domestic violence victims and their children through
early intervention and the following supportive services:
Hotline
937.222.SAFE (937.222.7233),
(TTY 937.461.7910) a 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline, jointly
provided by Artemis and the YWCA Shelter and Housing Network, offers
crisis intervention, information and support.
Support
Clients meet with advocates
for crisis intervention, safety planning, and support.
Court Outreach
Artemis provides outreach to victims, providing
information about civil and criminal options, legal services and
support, and court escort to all court hearings.
Advocacy
Information and referrals provide victims/survivors with the help
they need to access other services and remove barriers to getting
safe.
Children's Program
Designed to aid in the
healing process for child witnesses of domestic violence, this
program helps children identify and discuss reactions to living with
violence in their homes and develop skills and additional coping
strategies for current and future relationships.
The program
offers individual and
family therapy sessions
with the non-offending parent as well as parenting
services for the
non-offending parent to help with rebuilding parent
and child relationships damaged by domestic violence.
Groups
Artemis offers many Support and Education Groups during which survivors
share their experience with others who have lived with domestic
violence.
Community Education
Staff and volunteers of Artemis present information to community
organizations, schools, conferences and other human service agencies.
Direct Assistance
On an emergency basis, Artemis provides:
- Greyhound bus tickets, taxis and other transportation to safe
places including out-of-county and local shelters
- Non perishable food items and toiletries
- Transportation to medical appointments, courts, and other appointments
- Funds for changing locks, serving subpoenas, deposits for rent,
phone, utilities and other expenses related to increasing the
safety of, and/or, re-establishing a household.
Funds as available can
be requested through the Nancy
Grigsby Survivors Fund.
Artemis clients may be
eligible for assistance with Associates Degree or Technical/Trade
School education through the Julie Dunckelman Memorial Scholarship
Fund
