Services

Artemis serves domestic violence victims and their children through early intervention and the following supportive services:

Hotline

937.222.SAFE (937.222.7233), (TTY 937.461.7910) a 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline, jointly provided by Artemis and the YWCA Shelter and Housing Network, offers crisis intervention, information and support.

Support

Clients meet with advocates for crisis intervention, safety planning, and support.

Legal Services

In partnership with the Volunteer Lawyers Project, Artemis provides legal services for civil domestic violence actions including Temporary Protection Orders and related relief.

Court Outreach

Artemis provides outreach to victims at five local courts, providing information about civil and criminal options, legal services and support, and court escort to all court hearings.

Advocacy

Information and referrals provide victims/survivors with the help they need to access other services and remove barriers to getting safe.

Children's Program

Designed to aid in the healing process for child witnesses of domestic violence, this program helps children identify and discuss reactions to living with violence in their homes and develop skills and additional coping strategies for current and future relationships.

The program offers individual and family therapy sessions with the non-offending parent as well as parenting services for the non-offending parent to help with rebuilding parent and child relationships damaged by domestic violence.

Groups

Artemis offers many Support and Education Groups during which survivors share their experience with others who have lived with domestic violence.

Community Education

Staff and volunteers of Artemis present information to community organizations, schools, conferences and other human service agencies.

Direct Assistance

On an emergency basis, Artemis provides:

  • Greyhound bus tickets, taxis and other transportation to safe places including out-of-county and local shelters
  • Non perishable food items and toiletries
  • Transportation to medical appointments, courts, and other appointments
