 Smirks Benefit Artemis

This is A.J.'s third book of children's poems. In the Foreword,

money for the Children's Therapy Program at Artemis Center for
Alternatives
to Domestic Violence. Artemis provides a safe place for kids to
express their feelings through play and art therapy to help them
recover from the trauma and the loss they have experienced."
In his poems, A.J. takes a whimsical look at the world the way

Clean Up Hitter
Mother said I could learn from my cat
About how to keep myself clean.
Notice how Fluff cleans herself everyday.
That's why she has that nice sheen.
The next time I slid to home in the dirt
I decided to see how this goes.
I did pretty well with my arms and my legs
But I could not lick down to my toes.
