DAYTON, Ohio, May 4, 2021 – Patrons of Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway donated $7,818.18 to the Artemis Center during April, helping the organization continue its critical work as Dayton’s domestic violence resource center.

The donation is part of Hollywood Gaming’s ongoing effort to engage its customers in supporting area charitable and civic organizations. Each month, donation boxes are placed on the gaming floor to encourage patrons to take part in these charitable efforts.

“Artemis Center is thrilled to accept this generous donation from Hollywood Gaming,” said Kelly Sexton, Artemis’ Director of Development.  “For over 35 years, Artemis Center has served as Dayton’s domestic violence resource agency. Domestic violence and sexual assault affect thousands in the Dayton area each year.

“We help survivors and their families stay safe by providing free services such as adult and child therapy, support groups, community education, court accompaniment and the operation of Montgomery County’s 24/7 domestic violence hotline: (937) 461-HELP.  Every dollar raised goes to helping families right here in our community,” Sexton said.

Tim Kelley, general manager of Hollywood Gaming, said, “Because April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we felt – and our generous patrons obviously agreed – that the work of Artemis Center should be supported and honored. These contributions recognize the important work Artemis Center does, day in and day out.”
