As the provider of Montgomery County’s 24/7 domestic violence hotline, Artemis Center saw a 47.7%* increase in calls from 2020 to 2021. Nationally, the increase was a little over 12%* and in Ohio, the increase was 29%*. With this significant increase in calls, and an overall 30%* increase in the total number of clients served in the same time frame, Artemis is seeking support now more than ever.

The 24/7 Domestic violence hotline is the hub of all of Artemis Center’s services. Through this hotline, Artemis provides safety planning and emergency assistance which includes safe housing, transportation, access to pantry services, and referrals to other community partners. Artemis Center provided services to over 4,100* people in 2021 and answered over 6,600* hotline calls.

In October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Artemis Center will be sharing information with the Dayton community through events, campaigns, and stories.

The signature fundraiser for Awareness Month is the Breaking the Cycle Fundraising Breakfast, held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 8:00-9:00 am at Sinclair’s Conference Center.

The Breaking the Cycle Virtual 5k is held during the entire month of October. The goal is to raise $100,000 in support of survivors in the Miami Valley. Support for Artemis Center will help increase the number of trained advocates to answer the 24/7 hotline and sustain other programs and services needed in the Dayton community.

With such an increase in services, it is vital that we continue to make our community aware of the resources that Artemis Center provides free to all that need them!
